Where once we didn’t give any thought to the impact that different packaging had on the environment, today it is an aspect that we can no longer ignore. Whether that is reducing the use of plastics, ensuring that the inks used to print are not damaging, or just shrinking the amount of packaging materials used, eco-friendly packaging is now an important part of our lives in Massachusetts, New York, and Washington, D.C. At Park Press Printers, we want to be part of the solution, helping to balance the needs of an organization while also ensuring that whatever is used will not contaminate the environment. How We Handle Eco-Friendly Packaging
Having been in the printing arena for many decades, we have seen firsthand just how much waste there can be. We have taken steps to reduce the amount of waste that we have and have moved to fully recycled materials for the various custom boxes and packaging that we manufacture. These eco-friendly boxes can be reused multiple times.
We also use soy-based inks that provide great coverage and do not limit us to colors or styles. However, these inks are much better for the environment, as are the coatings that we use on various specialty packaging that we make for bakeries and other organizations. We emphasize the four R’s: reduce, reuse, recycle, and reproduce.
But even more than this, many of the other items that we make offer the opportunity to use recycled materials. When we make channel lettering, for example, the metal used to make the bodies of the letters can be recycled metal. As much as possible, the same holds true for any glass that is used in our manufacturing.
Accessories for Eco-Friendly Packaging
Because you may use the same packaging for several different items, it is important to differentiate these items with various tags and other accessories. These labels, tags, and other helpful items are also made with recycled paper and other materials to ensure that all aspects of your packaging follows those four R’s mentioned above.
