Prescription Pad Safety Features in California, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey, Washington, and West Virginia

While prescription pads are slowly changing over to digital options nationwide, including in California, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey, Washington, and West Virginia, there are still situations and facilities requiring the paper prescription pad. But ordering these specialized printed items requires understanding what makes them special, as well as understanding the different requirements that your state may have.

At Park Press Printers we have continued to keep up with the various requirements that states and other facilities have demanded in order to keep controlled substances safe and out of the hands of abusers. Along with all of these security features, it is important that the facility itself keep these prescription pads under lock and key and have a definite set of instructions for requests for additional prescription pads. We have invested in the right equipment over decades to ensure that we have full compliance with all required safety features for prescription pads. Contact us today to learn all about these security features and to place your order.

Safety Features That Are on Most Prescription Pads

Prescription Pads in California, Florida, New Jersey, and MassachusettsWatermarks have been a standard feature of prescription pads and other documents for years. These special marks or letters have been embedded into documents for a long time, and you can read them easily by holding them up to the light. This simple but effective safety feature does not carry over when copied. The same is true for the security background that is included on our prescription pads; these together help to stop people from duplicating a prescription pad.

There are additional measures that are taken as well. A security pantograph is lettering, often the word ‘VOID’, that appears on the photocopied document. We also utilize thermochromic ink on portions of the prescription pad that change color when heat is applied, such as from a person’s hand, and this ink doesn’t carry over on being copied. Of course, we also include unique serial numbers for each facility to help with tracking and verification.

Not Every Printer Can Do These

It is important to remember that not just any printer can accommodate these special security features when they are printing. It isn’t that a single safety feature is difficult to implement, but when combined to have a half-dozen of these all on the same document, it takes more time to be sure that all elements are working as they should. We have more than 80 years of handling the increasing complexity of prescription pads and that’s why we are the preferred printer for so many facilities all over the country.

The average person may not even realize all of the security features that are included in the prescription pad that their doctor uses in California, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey, Washington, and West Virginia. Park Press Printers appreciates the effectiveness of the secure prescription pad. Contact us today to learn all about these safety features and confidently place your order with our team.
